Plant description
The plant was put into operation in 1992. Around 10 years ago, fly ash washing was changed from neutral to acidic. Planning for the new flue gas purification unit began in 2014 with the concept study. The replacement of the entire flue gas purification unit was realised in summer 2016. The tight schedule was a challenge. The system downtime was limited to just under 4 weeks for operational reasons. During this time, the former flue gas purification unit was dismantled and the new one installed and commissioned in the same room. This was followed by various operational optimisations. In 2019, we began strategic planning for the replacement of the furnace and boiler, including the new boiler house. Energy efficiency and the amount of steam to be released are to be significantly increased as part of the new construction (planned after 2025).
