Plant description
The Ludwigshafen waste-to-energy plant has been in operation since 1967. I.C.E AG worked for GML for the first time in 2000, when it took part in the conversion and optimisation of the K1 waste-fired boiler. The conceptual design and planning for the IGNIS project began in 2017. It comprises the construction of the new waste-fired boilers K4 and K5, an extension to the boiler house and the slag bunker, the dismantling of the old boilers K1 and K2 and retrofit measures (renovation measures) for the old boiler K3. The project is to be completed by the end of 2024 / beginning of 2025.
